Skills and Training
Probe Training was established to provide access to employment and training opportunities for the residents of Hull and has since developed into an extremely well used venue with high levels of achievement for engaging, supporting, retaining and progressing individuals in a variety of programmes.Probe Training offer both full time and part time programmes designed to improve the skills of local people to help them to gain employment. Training offered includes:
- Numeracy training and qualifications
- Literacy training and qualifications
- Employability skills/training and qualifications which includes CV Guidance, Job Applications, Letter Writing and Interview Techniques
All training is delivered on a flexible basis with training programmes tailored to meet the needs of each individual ensuring that those who find it difficult to commit to a rigid programme can easily access the services available.
Skills for Life
Probe has an excellent track record for successfully delivering Skills for Life training courses and qualifications. We are working hard to bring adults across the City up to a Level 2 standard in Numeracy and Literacy.Courses are designed to give those individuals who need to improve their Literacy, Language and Numeracy skills a flexible and interactive learning experience that will motivate them to learn.
Delivery of Skills for Life courses are undertaken in comfortable, well equipped training rooms.
Undertaking a Literacy or Numeracy course allows individuals to develop their English and Maths skills to a level necessary to succeed at work. A Level 2 certificate in Literacy and/or Numeracy provides individuals with a qualification equivalent to a GCSE grade A-C.
Probe also offers Entry Level and Level 1 qualifications in these subjects and is a registered OCR and Edexcel National test centre giving individuals the opportunity to undertake online testing with results available within minutes.
Employability Skills
ASDAN Employability Skills is an Adult orientated qualification, not to be confused with those currently been offered in schools. Learners are challenged to think and assess their capabilities throughout a 15 week programme and find it a rewarding subject to study.Work placements are an integral part of the learning, helping learners to gain valuable experience and further develop their skills. It is hoped that by undertaking such activities learners will gain a better understanding and insight into what is required of them from potential employers.
Employability Skills are accredited through ASDAN, a nationally recognised qualification. This course deals with various subjects including: planning, work standards, communication, team work and applying for a job. Learners must satisfy various requirements set down by the examination body. Upon successful completion learners will achieve a nationally recognised qualification up to Level 1 standard.
